A heavy dinner makes rest difficult
A study by the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL), carried out in 2022, showed that larger nighttime meals increase the number of sleep interruptions. This happens because the metabolism remains accelerated, making it difficult for the body to naturally relax.
According to Sara Giampá, research scientist at Healthtech Biologix, typical dinner foods require greater digestive effort. “The ideal is to have your last meal up to four hours before going to bed, favoring simple proteins and low-fat dishes,” he advises.
