During an argument caused by suspicions of illegal marijuana consumption, the manager of the Porks bar, in Águas Claras (DF), showed a knife to customers on Saturday evening (20/12). Initially, the case is being investigated by the Federal District Civil Police (PCDF) as a threat.

The regulars denied using marijuana in the bar. The group members allegedly smoked tobacco cigarettes in an open space. According to customers, the manager had lost control, even though none of them were smoking anymore. And after overturning a table with drinks, he showed the knife to consumers.
According to the bar, there was marijuana smoke. The manager repeatedly asked people to stop using the drug, but received no response. According to the establishment, two members of the group involved attacked the manager and that’s why he got his hands on the knife.

THE Metropolises spoke with sales coordinator Luis Henrique Santana, 32, who was among the customers. “We were in a group of about 10, 15 people. We were all friends from work. We worked nearby. It’s customary now to leave work, have a beer and go home,” he said.
According to him, the bar servers had warned him that smoking would not be allowed in the premises. The requests were met. And, at first, no one smoked marijuana. “There was no one else smoking, the manager arrived in a very truculent manner to threaten. He was shouting,” he reported.
The manager then allegedly ordered the group to remove all drinks from the tables or he would return them. The group was surprised and one consumer questioned the order as the drinks had been purchased. At that point, the manager himself allegedly overturned the table and spilled all the drinks.

Customers protested. “At that precise moment, he took out a hunting knife from his waist. It was at least 20 centimeters long and he started threatening people. He was swearing at us. No one approached him to threaten him. No one did anything. Everyone was shocked by the situation,” Luis Henrique remembers.
According to him, the group did not attack the manager. “There was no confrontation,” he summarized. The regulars started filming the scene. The manager allegedly kept the knife in his belt and entered the bar. Customers called the Military Police (PMDF). The manager was arrested and taken to Police Station 21 (Taguatinga Sul).
“How does an establishment allow an employee to work armed? It represents a danger for everyone. We did not know what he could do to others. What worried us was the excesses of the manager. We always go there and nothing has ever happened. We are afraid. It has thrown us off balance,” he said.
“What appalled us was the excess. If he had come in and said, guys, this is really not possible, you can’t smoke here, everyone had gotten up and left the table in a very calm manner. We understand the rules. But the fact that he turned the table over, took a knife to the waist and threatened was the important point. The feeling of fear remains,” he reinforced.
Marijuana, four times
In a statement to PCDF, the manager said he smelled marijuana coming from the table and therefore asked to stop consuming it. However, the smell returned soon after. Here again, he would have informed that the establishment did not authorize the practice. But, for the third time, the aroma of the drug was noticed. The bar manager went to the group and warned them that if the practice continued, they would be expelled from the establishment.
After a few minutes, for the fourth time, the smell of marijuana was noticed in the bar. The manager went to the group and began dismantling the tables. One of the customers allegedly collected the drinks on a single table. Then he said, “I want to see who’s going to take it down.” The manager picked up the table and drinks and they fell to the floor.
At that point, the consumer attacked the professional and other people tried to surround him in a circle. The manager testified that he then reached around his waist and pulled out a work knife. Then the customers would have withdrawn and dispersed.
We do not allow drugs
Porks management defended the manager, reinforcing the employee’s version. “At this table, there was a specific person who was consuming drugs/narcotics (Marijuana)! In our environment, we do not authorize its use, so the bar staff arrived several times to ask that we not consume it!”, argued the establishment.
According to the bar, the alleged consumption caused discomfort among several patrons who frequented the restaurant, who even requested that action be taken. “Bar management came to the table to ask them to stop using it, as had already been requested on several occasions, and the whole group was told that if this person did not stop, they would have to be asked to leave! That said, the person insisted and I continued!” he added.
In addition, according to the establishment, two members of the group began to speak loudly and insult the manager, thus triggering the confusion. “At the time of the confusion, in order to protect himself, he put his hand on his waist mentioning that he would have a knife/knife as a quick protective response as 2 individuals moved towards him in an attempted attack! They then retreated, so there was no physical assault from either side and the confusion ended,” he said.
“In the whole scenario, the police were called, but those two members who started the argument, as well as the person who was using drugs, left,” he explained. According to the bar, all images from the establishment’s cameras will be transmitted to the PCDF and witnesses will also testify.
“Pigs is a democratic bar, we are accepted by all members of the public. However, we do not accept this scenario where the environment is not respected. Porks respects all customers, and we will always seek a better environment for everyone in the house! The Bar is a welcoming environment, we have no history of fights in the bar for over five years! There was this scenario where people became angry after a sequence of mistakes of an individual! However, this is an isolated scenario which is being resolved and will be analyzed by the competent authorities!”
