Solidarity returned this Sunday to travel the streets of Salamanca aboard a caravan of classic cars that delighted locals and foreigners alike for the 28th edition of Urban Guard Day. Organized by the Automobile ClubTHE … The day is intended to be a tribute to the figure of the municipal agent who, in the 40s, 50s and 60s, directed traffic at street level, in the rain, the cold or the heat, making the city move.
Like every year, the event served to collect food and essentials intended for the assistance center of the Little Sisters of the Poor, a tradition that transforms this concentration into a collective gesture of generosity on the part of the society of Salamanca.
The day began in the Plaza de la Concordia and unfolded through a caravan of elegant vintage cars that traveled the city streets towards the Plaza Mayor, where the vehicles remained on display until midday. In addition, on this occasion the GT Drivers club participated, bringing to the event the enthusiasm of high-performance sports cars, reports Ical.
In this edition, in addition, the traditional solidarity poster, the amount of which is entirely donated to the Little Sisters of the Poor, presented the winning drawings of the children’s competition organized among schoolchildren from the municipality of Carbajosa de la Sagrada, within the framework of the Children’s City project.
