“I’m very, very disappointed. I’ve done a lot for this club in recent years and especially last season. Now I’m on the bench and I don’t know why. It seems the club is using me as an excuse. That’s how I feel. It’s clear that someone wants to use me to take all the responsibility. They made a lot of promises to me this summer and now I’m on the bench for three games in a row. I said several times that I had a good relationship with the coach and now I don’t have one anymore. “I don’t know why, but it seems like someone doesn’t want me at the club,” he said.
Salah, who has renewed his contract until the summer of 2027, has hinted he may not return to Liverpool after the Africa Cup. which leaves on December 15.
“I told my parents to come to the game against Brighton. I don’t know if I’m going to play or not, but I’m going to enjoy it. I’m going to have a good time because I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m going to be at Anfield to say goodbye to the fans and go to the African Cup. I don’t know what will happen once I get there,” the Egyptian striker explained.
Regarding the relationship with Slot, Salah said: “There is no relationship between us. “We used to have a good relationship and now all of a sudden there’s no relationship.”
The Egyptian striker, when asked about a possible move to Saudi Arabia, said that in football you never know, but he did not want to refer to a hypothetical offer from this country.
“After everything I’ve done for this team, it really hurts. I know the club very well, I’ve been here for many years. Tomorrow Carragher is going to attack me again and that’s what it is. I have been at this club for many years and have scored more than anyone of this generation. I don’t think anyone has scored more goals and given more assists than me over this period. “I am alone in this situation,” he continued.
“Can I give you an example. A while ago, Harry Kane hadn’t scored in ten consecutive games and the press were saying, ‘Oh, Harry will score for sure.’ “When I don’t score, everyone asks me to go to the bench.”
Salah was Golden Boot, best passer and best player in the Premier League last season, in addition to the fourth Ballon d’Or, but this year he has only five goals and three assists all seasons.
