
South Korean and Russian officials met recently to discuss North Korea’s nuclear program and other security issues, according to South Korea’s Yonhap news agency.
According to the agency, a South Korean Foreign Ministry representative involved in the matter was in Moscow to meet with Oleg Burmistrov, the Russian ambassador responsible for the North Korean nuclear issue in the country.
The meeting was not made public by either country.

According to the report, the South Korean official asked Russia for help in resuming dialogue with North Korea in pursuit of peace in the region.
The country led by Lee Jae Myung believes that Moscow can play a decisive role in the conflict, given its proximity to Kim Jong-un’s regime.
