The rotation of cars in the city of São Paulo will be suspended from this Monday (22/12). The release of automobile traffic in the capital of São Paulo will last until January 9, 2026. The measure was announced by the city of São Paulo and was taken due to the low flow of vehicles normally recorded during this period.
During free movement days, only private cars will no longer be restricted in traffic in the capital. The rotation of plates continues to be valid for trucks, in addition to the restrictions of the Maximum Truck Restriction Zone (ZMRC) and the Maximum Charter Restriction Zone (ZMRF), which remain unchanged.
The rotation returns to normal on January 12.
Where rotation is applied
When in effect, the municipal rotation restricts vehicle movement on the São Paulo ring road between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and, in the afternoon, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
