Gijón, December 14 (EFE). – This Sunday, Sporting began preparing for the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey against Valencia, minimizing the number of losses in the squad.
Only Mamadou Loum, injured for a long time, was not part of the working group that Borja Jiménez organized as part of an open training session for the fans in Mareo.
A few hours after the win against Granada (1-0), the Red and Whites returned to training after getting left-back Pablo García fit for Tuesday’s game after his pubalgia problems improved.
The work unit was divided into two groups, with a lower burden on the players with more minutes of action in the league duel, who in turn want to rotate against the Che team this Tuesday (El Molinón, 9:00 p.m.).
Sporting will also reinstate Lucas Perrin and Justin Smith for the next game after they were suspended against Granada due to an accumulation of bookings.
Borja Jiménez’s men will complete their preparation for the game this Monday with a new training session, in this case behind closed doors, in the morning (10:45 a.m.) before announcing the squad list and the pre-match press conference.
A Monday morning in which the ordinary shareholders’ meeting will take place in El Molinón, in the presence of the president of the board of the club and the Orlegi Group, Alejandro Irarragorri, a year after his last visit to Gijón. EFE
