
According to the Center for Disaster Management (CMD), rainfall associated with the monsoon has made the ground even more unstable in central and northwestern mountainous areas, increasing the risk of further landslides.
The warning comes after Cyclone Ditwah affected more than two million people, around 10% of the population, with flooding and landslides recorded last week.
On Sunday, helicopters and planes were mobilized to supply communities left isolated due to blockages caused by collapsing slopes.
The government confirmed 618 deaths and reported that another 209 people were still missing. Authorities estimate that more than 75,000 homes were damaged, including 5,000 completely destroyed.
