Civil servants expected protests during sessions of Congress debating labor reform following the publication of the decree calling for extraordinary sessions of the National Congress from December 10 to 30.
Daniel Catalano, Secretary General of the State Workers Association, stated this this Monday and also spoke of a dialogue between the two CTAs and the General Confederation of Labor to coordinate the response on the streets to the government project.
“(Hugo) Yasky and (Hugo) Godoy have spoken to the triumvirate (cegetista) to take joint action, whether it is possible with the CGT or not. On the day of treatment, the two CTAs proposed a strike and mobilization and we will resist in the streets,” said the union leader in dialogue with Radio Splendid.
Meanwhile, ATE’s leadership at the national level has already been confirmed a nationwide strike and march to Congress tomorrow, Tuesday, December 9, in rejection of the labor reform project.
On this day, Mayo Council will publicly announce its labor reform proposal, with Gerardo Martínez representing the Cegetista leadership.
Employees of the national public administration and provincial and local governments are involved in the decision of the national executive committee of the national union.
After Jorge Sola, Cristian Jerónimo and Octavio Argüello took over the leadership of the union, they expressed their opposition to the work modernization initiative and called on the government to open a negotiating table.
However, they have not yet expressed the possibility of demanding strong action from the CGT when the project is discussed in the coming days.
“Very little is known. That’s what the representatives and senators say.” It’s a repeat of what’s happening now.. We understand that the intention is for union organization and collective bargaining agreements to disappear, for memories of job stability to be questioned, for there to be no more compensation, and for you to be forced to resign in order to be reinstated. “That’s what was proposed, which is Scripture,” Catalano explained.
In this context, he pointed to the possibility that “politics can solve not only the labor question,” but also the penal reform that the executive also proposes to bring about change.
In addition, the Piquetero groups will perform on Tuesday a “National Day of Struggle” with protests in 32 points across the countryin opposition to labor reform.
The call was announced by the Piquetero Fighting Front and the Union of Workers of the Popular Economy.
The lawsuit also includes demands for an increase and continuity of the supplementary social wage, which the government announced cuts in April; the automatic updating of general child benefit; a year-end bonus for social plans, national economy workers and informal workers; works for popular neighborhoods; and the return of food to soup kitchens.
