In the pictures, a group of students wearing military uniform can be seen singing a song attributed to the Special Police Operations Battalion (Bobi), affiliated with the Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro, with lyrics calling for hatred and violence.
They walk in a line in the school yard, watched by a retired soldier, chanting:
One excerpt reads: “Man in black, what are you doing? I do things that scare the devil. Man in black, what is your mission? Enter the slums and leave the bodies on the ground. BOPE has warriors who kill missile carriers. With a knife between his teeth, he skins them whole. He kills them and skins them, and always uses his gun.”
For Walkeria Mazzito, president of APP-Sindicato, scenes like the one in the video are not isolated.
He said: “Since the beginning of this program (military civil colleges), we have received and reported similar and even worse incidents in schools that have adopted the civilian-military model. It is shocking to see that public schools are being used to promote extremist ideological indoctrination, which calls for hatred, violence, massacres and the extermination of peripheral communities. This is extremely dangerous.”
State Rep. Tadeo Veneri (PT-PR) also declared his disgust at the photos: “We will take this case to the Ministry of Education and the Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives for examination. It is an unambiguous violation of the Child and Adolescent Act.”
What the Ministry of Education says
The Paraná State Department of Education (Seed-PR) informed that it was aware of the photos and “immediately requested information from the school administration and the professionals involved.”
According to the ministry, the recorded content “does not comply with the guidelines and guidelines of the State Education Network.” The secretariat says it rejects any demonstration that encourages violence or discrimination.

More schools are using the military model
On November 19, Seed-PR announced an increase in the number of schools that will adopt the civilian-military model. There will be another 33 civilian-military schools, for a total of 345 institutions within the model.
According to the secretariat, this increase is the result of a public consultation conducted at the beginning of the month in public schools.
“The approval of the school community, recorded in 66% of the units consulted, confirms the widespread acceptance of the model and strengthens the country as having the largest network of civilian-military schools in the country,” the ministry says.
