According to reports from different sources, always taking care to open his speech by saying that, because of his military background, he will not be disloyal or ungrateful to Jair Bolsonaro, the governor of São Paulo made it clear that he did not agree with Flávio’s candidacy – neither with the timing nor with the choice of the former president.
For Tarcísio, no one can manage polarization anymore – “these guys are crazy”, he likes to say – and Lula is an “old candidate”, obsolete.
Therefore, according to him, the time will come when “the adults will enter the room” and define an opposition candidacy independent of Bolsonarism.
By “adults” we mean the right-wing governors, the leaders of the Centrão and, of course, him, Tarcísio.
The basis of this independent candidacy, according to Tarcísio, would be a common national project, focused on fiscal responsibility, a tough proposal on public security and a political reform which he cited in generic terms.
