With the arrival of the holidays, the Argentine table prepares to share, celebrate and enjoy. In this context, chicken is reaffirmed as a strategic choice that combines tradition, practicality and nutritional value. The Chicken Nutritional Information Center (CINCAP) emphasizes that it is a complete food, ideal for preparing balanced festive menus affordable to everyone.
One of its main features is its protein content: one portion of chicken – whether half a breast or a thigh – covers around 50% of the daily protein requirement and thus contributes to the feeling of satiety and the maintenance of muscle mass. Added to this is its light and easily digestible profile, a key advantage for large meals. The breast contains only 1.5% fat, while the leg contains about 5% fat, so you can enjoy it without feeling heavy and reach the toast – and sweet bread – with greater comfort.
In addition, chicken is a real “blank canvas” in the kitchen. Its mild flavor and versatility make it an ingredient suitable for all types of preparations: hot or cold, baked, grilled, shredded in salads or as a base for more elaborate dishes. This flexibility explains why it remains one of the foods most chosen by Argentinians on special days.
Given the numerous expenses at the end of the year, the economic aspect is also important. According to data cited by CINCAP, nearly four in 10 people choose chicken because of its affordable price and excellent performance, positioning it as the most accessible option, leaving no table uncelebrated.
At the nutritional level, its contribution is not limited to proteins. Chicken meat contains B complex vitamins – such as B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12 – as well as choline and essential minerals such as zinc, iron, selenium and phosphorus, which are essential for the body to function and for an energized end of the year.
“Chicken is part of our tradition and the most accessible option, so no table is left without a celebration,” the CINCAP report said. A definition that summarizes why this food is once again considered a great ally of Argentine feasts.
