Anyone who sees Tati Machado’s smile on television every day does not know that, off the air, she is still going through a period of internal adjustments and important decisions. Without filter and with great honesty, the presenter opened her heart in an interview given to this columnist for Metropolisesspoke about her recent memories, her professional decisions, her still exposed wounds and took stock of a year which, according to her, was one of extremes.

Tati said she experiences days of intensity she can barely name and her own body seems to be chasing the emotions. Between family, friends and work, he looked for support to continue walking, even though he couldn’t find an explanation for anything. In May this year, the presenter announced the death of Raël, her first child, from her marriage to Bruno Monteiro.
“It was the best and worst year of my life, a seesaw of emotions that I can’t even express in words. I don’t even know how I stand, how I am here. I looked for answers from my family, from my friends, from my work, which I love very much.”
Tati showed that the rebuilding process is made up of small internal adjustments that no one sees, but which change the way he walks in the world. She spoke of days that fluctuate without warning, of how she tries to rearrange meanings so as not to get lost in her own routine.
“We learn to give new meaning to every moment of life so that we can make everything a little better and make life a little more joyful. My emotions are very strong.”
Career turnaround
Tati recalled her early days at Globo, the behind-the-scenes that no one sees and the feeling that, even amid the chaos of the year, her career continued to open unexpected paths. Between feedback, challenges and invitations that change the routine overnight, she explained how she faced this phase of change.
“Early in my career, a lot of people asked, ‘Wow, how did everything happen so quickly for her?’ But nothing. I’ve been at Globo for a while now, I started as an intern. And I feel like every year has been better. I never had a good year. There is always something new happening. It’s impossible not to end the year with such a positive result. Lots of things. I was able to return from my maternity leave and received the gift of replacing Ana Maria Braga. Who, to me, is the greatest goddess we have on television. Imagine this responsibility. How can I not hold on to this with all my love?
And, for her, emotional survival and fulfillment at work end up mixing. Which also ends up being part of this assessment.
“I won! And I think it’s another year that I won. It’s just joy, with an open heart for 2026 coming.”
