The 2026 Road Tourism (TC) season begins on the weekend of February 15th with the first date in El Calafate, Santa Cruz. It will be the first day of a calendar consisting of 15, as usual. The last one, in which the champion will be defined, is scheduled for December 6th. It will last almost 10 months during which the tournament will travel almost the entire country with races on various circuits.
After the visit to Calafate, the country’s most important motorsport category goes to Viedma (Río Negro), then to Neuquén on the third day and to Córdoba on the fourth. For the fifth to the fifteenth dates, the venues have not yet been announced.
The competition format is the same as previous seasons. In the first 10 dates the pilots collect points for the overall ranking and the first 12 take part in the Gold Cup. From this will emerge the champion of the highest category of motorsport. On the last day, two “last minute” cars will be added to this ranking, which also have the opportunity to win the crown. To become a champion, you have to win at least one race a year.
In its 88-year history, the TC has had 41 different winners of 80 titles, including Agustín Canapino, winner of five titles, the last of which was in 2025. (There was no competition between 1942 and 1946 due to the Second World War). The one who has won the trophy the most times is Juan Gálvez, with nine coronations (1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958 and 1960). He is followed by Guillermo Ortelli with seven stars (1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2008, 2011 and 2016) and Juan María Traverso with six (1977, 1978, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1999).
