For the fifth time in its history, Italy will win the title of women’s volleyball club world champion. At the Pacaembu Gymnasium, in São Paulo, this Sunday (12/14), at 4:30 p.m., Conegliano and Scandicci fight for the gold medal, broadcast on CazéTV and VBTV streaming.

The first Italian title came in 1992, during the second edition of the World Cup, when Ravenna beat Minas. Then, a long break until Conegliano won the first of his three titles, in 2019.

Turkey leads the World Cup in wins, with eight: four from Vakifbank, three from Eczacibasi and one from Fenerbahce. Brazil has three (Sadia in 1991, Leite Moça in 1993 and Osasco in 2012).

Looking for fourth, Conegliano is the team to beat. It has dominated the Italian scene over the decade, is a constant presence in the Champions League final and has some of the best players in the world.

Scandicci is playing excellent volleyball, this will be a beautiful and fascinating match, with many of the best players in the world at their positions. Scandicci has become accustomed to making decisions in recent years, such as during the last Champions League and during the Italian 23/24. In both cases they lost to Conegliano. He is now seeking an unprecedented feat.

– We did not come to Brazil on vacation, but to win a historic trophy. During the season, in the Champions League, no one really believed in us. We are now in the World Cup final, a great achievement, but our goal is different – commented Marco Gaspari, Scandicci commander.
