
This month, Telefonica submitted to the unions its first proposal for the terms of the new Employment Regulation Act (ERE), in which it proposes to cover 5,040 of the expected 6,088 cuts with losses from age 55 onwards, i.e. 82% of the total. The rest will be covered by lower voluntary costs, opening the door that forced nudity could be applied if the cup of prejudice is not complete.
This is how the management of the company was transferred to the workers’ representatives at the negotiating tables of the ERE and which will affect the three subsidiaries included in the Related Enterprises Agreement (CEV): Telefónica de España, Telefónica Móviles and Telefónica Soluciones.
The company plans to illustrate the plan preferably through losses, replicating the economic conditions of 2024 ERE. The proposal includes the following income periods: for those born in 1969, 1970, and 1971, 68% of the salary until the age of 63, and 38% between the ages of 63 and 65; Between 1965 and 1968, 62% up to 63 years and 34% between 63 and 65 years; Born in 1964 and before, 52% up to the age of 63 and 34% between the ages of 63 and 65.
Furthermore, it includes the annual update of 1% of the regulatory salary in the second stage, income reversal, a special agreement for 63 years, basic health coverage, extraordinary contribution to the pension plan, ATAM (telephone social protection system) coverage and the cost of contributions during unemployment.
The three unions with representation (UGT, CC OO and Sumados Fetico) rated the company’s first offer as “inadequate” and were warned that if there were no improvements in aspects such as voluntariness, universality or the proposed organizational salary percentages, there would be no agreement.
In the case of UGT, the union rejects the offer, especially since the company eliminates the possibility of accepting volunteer requests in areas classified as critical or not excessive. “The union informed Telefónica that under these circumstances it would not be possible to reach an agreement preventing the activation of any naked person due to the employment guarantee in place at III CEV,” the UGT document explains.
