Teodoro León Gross: Degradation of the level of sanchism

It is not surprising that the PSOE received the decision of the Attorney General discrediting the Supreme Court. Oscar López argued that “I have seen many Hollywood scripts with less creativity than this sentence”, which is nothing, said a Spanish government minister accusing the … magistrates of the superior court to invent the sentence, and another, Óscar Puente, at the same time. Anyway, who knows which one deserves the Oscar for the doggiest minister, but it’s all crazy. Of course, it is likely that the gradual process of degradation in recent years, in the metaphor of the boiled frog, has meant that no one is too scandalized by anything, because everything is too scandalous from day to day. It is increasingly difficult to gain perspective. The executive power has decided to govern without the legislative power, announced by Sánchez in the absence of a majority, and no longer consults national sovereignty on anything related to the Sahara or military spending, and uses the political organ of the constitutional power to correct and ignore the judicial power.

The big lie of sanchismo has two differentiable periods, or perhaps three if we include the primaries, with funds coming from the father-in-law’s prostitution businesses, deceiving his allies and even with false ballots at the polls. The first step is a motion of censure flying the flags of democratic regeneration and feminism, defended by Ábalos, today in Soto del Real, amid serious corruption scandals and with the stigma of a wild whore. Cerdán followed him as head of the organization. After the years of glory of the Peugeot Gang, the party’s financing is called into question and looks bad. At this point, Sánchez was still announcing European elections in 2019 due to lack of budgets… and now he is going three years without a full legislature. The real reason then was the favorable polls. This second stage is contaminated by the corrupt construction of “we are more” being less, buying seven votes for the false majority at the cost of a humiliating amnesty for the rule of law and the law, remaining in the hands of parties that are mostly enemies of the system itself. There are its partners who qualify the Supreme Court as a “putschist right”, calling for the barricades while whitewashing not only the putschists of 2017 but even ETA, defined as “pacifist” not only by the publicists of this regime at the level of Operation Triunfo. This is all sanchismo. It is not only about the PSOE, but about this miserable constellation capable of looking away from Salazar’s victims – “My sister, I don’t believe you” – so that Sanchismo can protect “uno di noi”.

Perhaps the metaphor of the boiled frog allows us, yes, to understand how we got here, lie by lie, until we get used to it. If someone had fallen into a coma and woke up now, we might be shocked, but these seven years have led to the normalization of democratic abnormality. And that’s what it is.
