FIFA announced this Wednesday (12/17) the amounts that will be paid in prizes during the 2026 World Cup. The bonuses were defined during the Council meeting preceding the final of the Intercontinental Cup.
The total value of 727 million US dollars (4 billion reais) is 50% higher than that of the 2022 World Cup, played in Qatar.

Champion: 50 million US dollars (275 million reais)
Runner-up: US$33 million (Reais 181 million)
3rd place: 29 million US dollars (159 million reais)
4th place: 27 million US dollars (148 million reais)
5th to 8th places: 19 million US dollars (104 million reais)
9th to 16th places: 15 million US dollars (82 million reais)
17th to 32nd places: 11 million US dollars (60 million reais)
33rd to 48th places: 9 million US dollars (49 million reais)
“The 2026 FIFA World Cup will also be revolutionary in terms of its financial contribution to the global football community,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in a statement.
The teams that will participate in the World Cup have a guarantee of 10.5 million US dollars (57 million reais). In fact, each country qualified for the competition receives 1.5 million US dollars (8 million reais) and 9 million US dollars (57 million reais) for its participation in the group stage.
