Actor Vitor Eduardo Dumont Ferreira died on Saturday evening (6) following a sudden illness during the premiere of the musical “Aladdin” at the Teatro Municipal Glória Giglio, in Osasco, São Paulo, at the age of 25. The Clayds Zwing school, responsible for putting on the play, paid tribute to the artists on the networks.
“Today we say goodbye to Vitor Eduardo Dumont Ferreira, our beloved Vitor Dumont, 25 years old, born in São Paulo, was an artist by essence, talent and light by vocation. Actor, dancer and singer of musical theater, Vitor carried in his body and in his voice an energy that would permeate any audience,” the publication says.
“A sudden illness interrupted his life as he was applauded, making the audience smile. Vitor left doing what he loved, where he always belonged: the stage. His presence, his talent and his artistic generosity leave a mark that will not fade.”
According to choreographer Francisco Ribeiro, Ferreira passed out with 20 minutes remaining. He was rescued by Samu, but it was confirmed that the death had occurred in the theater. The exact cause of death has not been released.
Clayds Zwing states that the artist had a degree in public relations and worked in this field at the Cia. Brasileira de Teatro Musical (CiaBTM), where he also worked as an actor. Ferreira also participated in the Black Swan Musical Theater Study and Training Center and performed in productions of “The Nutcracker” and “Footlose,” staged by Studio Broadway.
In the musical “Aladdin”, Ferreira played the famous character of the Genie, who helps the protagonist popularized by Disney animation. All screenings of the play have been canceled.
The actor’s wake took place this Monday (8) at the Parque das Cerejeiras memorial cemetery, in the Jardim Ângela neighborhood, in São Paulo.
