The FPC will sit on the bench, for which the public prosecutor is asking for five years in prison for one alleged crime of attack on authority for discrimination and aggravated injury, and two years in prison for JAPA for threats. In addition, a fine is imposed which amounts, between the two, to 2,500 euros for bodily and moral harm, reports Ical.
The event took place on the night of April 11, 2024, while several people were protesting in front of the doors of the PSOE headquarters in Ponferradarue Général Vives, to protest against the amnesty law promoted by the central government. These demonstrations had been repeated for several days late in the afternoon.
Ramón, who left the headquarters after a meeting of the municipal group of Ponferrada, of which he is general secretary, He was attacked by one of these demonstratorsFPC, when he reprimanded him and, after seeing how Ramón took out his cell phone, he grabbed him, shook him and kicked him, an event that, in addition, was reflected in a video.
While other demonstrators insulted and threatened him, including JAPA, who will also sit in the dock this Tuesday. Among these insults were “liar, thief, murderer and Pinocchio”, which created in Ramón, “a feeling of humiliation, frustration and shame”as detailed in the previous qualification document.
As a result, the victim suffered a bruised finger, contusions and injuries to his right leg, with consequences to the scar. For all these reasons, the accused faces a possible prison sentence of five and two years.
“Unpleasant” episode
Ramón arrives at this hearing with the “pain” of having to face, once again, “an episode which was very unpleasant” and that he will have to see again the people who attacked and insulted him.
“I hope that as a result of this trial, there will be criminal charges for these behaviors. First, the actors themselves must know that when this kind of thing is done, for ideological reasons and out of hatred of the PSOE, it has consequences. And also that it’s a message to society as a whole that this type of intolerant action has its consequences,” he said.
