Do you usually buy the same brand of light cream cheese at the supermarket and have noticed that the taste has changed? The Ceia Clandestina profile tested 27 brands and noted that 33% of the brands tested a year ago changed the formula and the rankings changed a lot.
Poços de Caldas, for example, which held first place in 2024, fell to 21st position. Another famous brand, Batavo, which was in second place, moved to 22nd place.
“Quatá cream cheese is the only product here that is not cream cheese and therefore contains starch: not only does it turn out that having starch is something completely normal and it does not harm the quality of the product when comparing it with other “requeijãos” which are absolutely terrible, not containing this ingredient, but it shows that “reading the ingredients” is only a small part of understanding of a good product,” the reviewers said.
