Electronic music will open the dance floor of Mexico City to celebrate the old year and welcome 2026. Wednesday, December 31, from 6:00 p.m. At 2 a.m. on New Year’s Eve, eight national and international DJs will be responsible for closing 2025 with “the biggest electronic party in the world”, the name of the event from the Mexico City government. The celebration will take place on Paseo de la Reforma and MGMT DJ Set, ARCA DJ Set, Kavinsky, Mariana Bo, 3BALLMTY (Tribal Monterrey), VEL, Ramiro Puente and Jehnny Beth will perform. The event is free and aims to promote “the appropriation of public space as a meeting place for the arts and collective celebration as a means of building a community”, mentions the press release from the capital’s Ministry of Culture.
The 2024 celebration managed to attract more than 200,000 people. The disco music evening and high energy by Polymarques showed that the residents of the capital wanted to close the streets, listen to loud music and dance until the arrival of 2025, as if they were participating in an open-air party. “Last year we did this first party experience, more than a concert, with Polymarchs, which was a complete success. We were a little cramped with only one stretch of Reforma because it was great, people didn’t leave and they danced and danced,” recalled Ana Francis Mor, Secretary of Culture of Mexico City, in an interview with Radio Formula. This year they will try to repeat that; and while expecting so many people, they will stage intermediate scenes with professional dancers. “I tell them that if they are under 40, they should start at 6 p.m., go dancing, then go out to dinner, have a drink and come back. Surrender to the dance, surrender to the party,” Mor concluded.
Or
The main stage will be at the Ángel de la Independencia, so participants can gather towards the Ahuehuete roundabout or the Diana Cazadora roundabout, depending on their preference.
