He Official State Gazette This Monday includes the call for 17,986 positions in the General Administration of the State (AGE). As specified in the resolution published by the Secretary of State for the Civil Service, these are already known positions, included in the public employment offers for 2025, 2024 and 2023. The news this Monday is that nearly 18,000 positions are officially announced for the AGE.
The Ministry of Civil Service indicates in a press release that the positions will correspond to five bodies in the form of free rotation and internal promotion. These are administrative and IT assistant technicians (C1), administration assistants (C2), management of the State Civil Administration and management of systems and IT of the State Administration (A2).
“This call”, adds the ministry led by Óscar López, “is part of the roadmap defined by consensus for an Open Administration, aimed at promoting proactive, innovative and inclusive public employment. It promotes the attraction and retention of talents through selective processes based on the principles of equality, merit and ability”.
The government specifies that the minimum qualification to apply for positions contained in subgroup C2 is to have completed secondary education; for subgroup C1, a baccalaureate or technical diploma will be required; and for subgroup A2, a university degree, technical engineer, technical architect or diploma will be required.
The public service explains that the nearly 18,000 places are distributed as follows:
- For the General Auxiliary Corps of State Administration, there will be 1,700 freely rotating positions (156 for the disability quota) and 720 for internal promotion.
- For the General Administrative Body of State Administration, 2,512 places are offered (230 for disability quota) and 6,178 for internal promotion.
- For the Corps of Auxiliary IT Technicians of the State Administration, there will be 1,030 places (186 for the disability quota) and 340 for internal promotion.
- In the State Civil Administration Management Corps, 1,356 places are called up (266 for disability reservation) and 2,950 for internal promotion.
- For the Systems Management and IT Corps of the State Administration, a total of 680 positions and 520 for internal promotion.
The department headed by López specifies that to participate in these selective tests, the application for admission must be submitted electronically (this can be done through this link). The deadline is 20 working days from the day following the date of publication of this call to Official State Gazette. That is 20 working days from this Tuesday.

The government approved the latest public job offer this summer. This broke the dynamic of recent years: the figure falls compared to 2024 and 2023, after four years of consecutive increases. There were 36,588 places, a decrease of 8.8% compared to last year’s 40,121, although it should be noted that this offer marked the record since there are consolidated records. Thus, although lower than the previous year and the year before, the 2025 supply exceeds the already high figures of the rest of the years since 2018, when Pedro Sánchez’s mandate began. The government estimates that with this offer, 5,400 jobs will be created in the AGE.
On the other hand, Congress last week supported the increase in salaries of civil servants in 2025 and 2026. This is an increase of 2.5% in 2025, with retroactive effects from January 1, and of 1.5% from the first day of 2026, which will mean a cumulative increase of 4% (to which an additional 0.5% can be added depending on the CPI of the following year). The Executive’s agreement with the unions provides for a further increase of seven points until 2028, reaching 11% accumulated in four years.
