The leadership of Sao Paulo expects a completely different scenario for 2026. After a cycle marked by strict control of expenses, the club is preparing to change course to expand its investment capacity and qualify the team.
Casares is ramping up interactions outside of games
President Julio Casares reduced the number of his participation in the team’s matches, but his absence is considered strategic, according to him. The manager claims that it is for meetings with potential investors interested in investing resources in the club.
— The issue of investment is one I have worked on a lot. They might say that the president should be there at another meeting. Attribution is also commercial. When we talk about investment, it is the president’s presence that has the potential to make it, without enumerating the type, size, and form of investment. We will have selections after the end of the Brazilian League – said the president.
Expectations of improvement in accounts reinforce the plan
Tricolor’s management believes that the next financial statement should present more positive numbers than those recorded between 2024 and 2025. If confirmed, the improvement in accounts, as well as the entry of new financial partners, could pave the way for a more aggressive recruitment policy and promote a more competitive sporting project in São Paulo.
São Paulo is accelerating its internal reformulation process for 2026
The Sao Paulo board has begun a wide-ranging restructuring process aimed at next season. The anticipation of the planning led to the departure of three names associated with the football department: Carlos Belmonte, Fernando Bracali Ambrogi (Chapico) and Nelson Márquez Ferreira. Despite the changes, Rui Costa remains responsible for executive football management, while Maurici Ramalho continues in his role as technical coordinator.
The administrative reorganization also includes the arrival of Marcio Carlomagno to the position of CEO of the club, reinforcing the strategy of professionalizing Tricolor management.
Crespo should remain in technical leadership
Behind the scenes, Hernan Crespo’s stay is being treated as a priority. The coach is betting that a period of strict control over expenses – reflected in signings without the cost of economic rights in 2025 – will allow the club to have a greater financial margin in 2026 to invest in reinforcements and increase the team’s competitiveness.
