The Brazilian national team remains steadfast in its search for a place in the final of the inaugural Women’s Futsal World Cup. Brazil beat Japan 6-1 on Tuesday (12/2), with Deborah Fannin, who was named FIFA’s man of the match after an impressive performance, impressed.
Undefeated, Brazil is now preparing to face Spain in the semi-finals, scheduled for Friday (12/5), at 9:30 AM (Brasilia time). The duel deserves a place in the big decision of the first edition of the tournament. The other semi-final between Argentina and Portugal will also take place on Friday, at 7 am. (from Brasilia)
The winger did not hide their emotions and dedicated the cup to their father. “I was very happy. They called me to the corner, asked me to do an interview and then took me to the space of the best in the game. So I also wanted to dedicate this here to my father, who always accompanies me. Dad, this is for you,” he said.
Fannin also highlighted the team’s high level of concentration before and during the duel with the Japanese.
“What I felt against Japan was that everyone was very focused. I think we have reached a level of maturity where we know that if we lose, we will go home, and we are very aware of that. You could see that in the dressing room atmosphere, in the pre-match period. We had that extra focus in these matches,” he said.

Four minutes later, pivot Ana Luisa produced a beautiful single and served Emily, voted the best player in the world, who completed the ball into the net and opened the score: 1 x 0.
Five minutes later, the second score came: Amandinha quickly advanced from the left flank, dribbled around the mark and found Ana Luisa free in the penalty area. The number 11 shirt pushed him towards an empty goal, increasing Brazil’s advantage.
In the 11th minute, Brazil scored the third goal in a perfect team game. The ball moved from foot to foot throughout the attack until Emili, after gaining space on the right flank, fired a bomb cross, without any opportunity for the Japanese goalkeeper.
The fourth goal came from the feet of Deborah Fannin, who started from the left side, “combed” the ball and finished it with his left, with a low-angle shot that found the space between the goalkeeper and the post.
Brazil then scored the fifth goal: Luana intercepted a pass in the middle and played with Natalinha. The Japanese defense blocked the first shot and the second stopped at the post. In the end, Luana herself completed the goal: 5×1.
In the second half, Brazil slowed down and succeeded in controlling the ball and taking advantage of time.
Japan tried to respond with a goalkeeping strategy and increased pressure on the attack, but left the goal empty. Thus, Emily scored third place and closed the account.
