The second time was the charm. The general assembly of the Association of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of Cordoba approved this Monday the reform of the statutes, which incorporates notable changes to the text in force since 2000 and which, … among other aspects, it regulates the incorporation new brotherhoods who want to access the official Holy Week race for the first time.
The project reached 39 votessix more than the three-fifths necessary to be approved, with seven against, two blanks and two draws, which has the necessary majority and will come into force when the Bishopric of Cordoba approves the reform.
The text is very similar to the one which did not obtain a sufficient majority in October 2023 (23 against 15 then), but it is now moving forward with the same spirit and a few changes. It’s new for that title Vwhich has only one article in which it establishes that to enter Holy Week, the brotherhood will have to be absent for ten years the day before and that it will bring a hundred brothers if it has one step and 150 if there are two.
These must be images enthroned in measures and regarding the decision of the brotherhoods, there should be no “reasonable doubt about the viability of carrying out the station of penance at the Cathedral and of completing its departure and return from its canonical seat”.
They must do it, he insists, with the exit and the entrance to their temple, without shortcuts, which may have to do with the entrance, in 2024, of the Sorrows of Alcolea, but also with the fact that the Agony had used the Cathedral as an exit point and the Piedad for the entrance. The text establishes that this cannot be done, in accordance with what is established by the Cathedral Chapter.
For a brotherhood to join Holy Week, it will have to be approved by those who make up the day in which it is supposed to fit. On the other hand, it will be much easier to income in the Association of Brotherhoods, which will no longer have to go through the assembly of brotherhoods.
Operation
With the canonical approval of its regulations and the request, the Board of Directors of the Group will approve it and will only have to inform the assembly. This will avoid the refusal that the brotherhood of Fifth anxietywho has not yet been able to enter the institution.
There are not many changes in the composition of the Group’s Board of Directors, but they remove the section plenary sessions of penance and glory, which had been in force since the accession of the non-Easter corporations in 2000. Its functions will now pass to the assembly as the supreme body.
Many aspects will now have to be developed in the regulationsnotably at the prison police station, but a broad regime of sanctions has already been established both for the members of the Board of Directors and for the brotherhoods which, due to their behavior, can become creditors.
