The Civil Guard administratively denounced six times to a content creator for publication different videos on their social networks doing various illegal activities in the Sierra de Gredos regional park, a protected natural area of extraordinary ecological value.
Agents’ actions began after detection on different digital channels various audiovisual contents recorded in particularly sensitive enclaves of the Park.
In this material, we observe Alfonso Santaella performing practices expressly prohibited due to current environmental regulations, in particular the unauthorized flight of drones in areas of high ecological sensitivity; unauthorized camping in areas subject to special protection; either bathe in glacial lagoonsextremely fragile ecosystems where this activity is prohibited.
The Civil Guard recalls that the Sierra de Gredos Regional Park is a territory of great ecological value which is home to species that are particularly sensitive to human presence and noise, such as the golden eagle, the griffon vulture, the ibex and various cataloged species. Activities such as flying drones, swimming in glacial lagoons, or camping without permission can seriously modify the behavior of wildlife, interfere with their reproductive cycles and degrade exceptionally fragile habitats.
Thus, all activities carried out in Protected Natural Areas must comply with the legislation in force, and it is necessary to have the necessary relevant permissions for the exercise of certain practices.
