THE Community of Madrid has given the green light to a specific financial allocation to support those who decide to start a professional activity as a self-employed person in 2026. The plan has an overall envelope of three million euros and aims to facilitate the start of new business or professional projects in the region, as detailed in the information published by the regional administration on its official institutional portal.
The initiative is part of the active employment policies of the Regional Executive and is aimed exclusively at people who are unemployed at the time of their registration as self-employed workers. The aim is to reduce the initial economic barriers that hinder individual entrepreneurship.
The program envisages the granting of aid aimed at partially covering the most common expenses linked to the start-up of the activity. These include the notary and registration feesprofessional management and consulting services, as well as procedures related to the registration of patents, trademarks or trade names.
Professional and administrative fees included
The grants also cover other costs necessary during the first months of operation, such as hiring technical engineers, lawyers or other specialized professionals. Likewise, fees from professional associations are considered eligible when they are obligatory for the exercise and payment of insurance directly linked to economic activity.
Support for the first necessary services
The design and development of a business websiteas well as the acquisition of software, computer licenses and digital tools essential to the activity, are part of the list of expenses that can be covered. The measure aims to facilitate digitalization from the start of the project.
Local costs and basic supplies
The program approved by the Community of Madrid also includes partial coverage of expenses related to the physical space where the professional activity is carried out. This covers basic supplies such as water, gas, electricity and internet, provided they are directly linked to the exercise of an independent activity.
Conditions for accessing the grant
To benefit from this assistance, candidates must register as self-employed workers with the corresponding Social Security scheme or with the alternative mutual insurance of their professional association. Additionally, they must commit to maintaining this situation for a certain period of time. minimum period of two years since the start of the activity.
The deadline for submitting the application is three months from the start date of the activity, understood as registration for the Economic Activities Tax or the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers. Strict compliance with this deadline is an essential condition to be able to benefit from the subsidy.

With this new help line, the Community of Madrid strengthens its strategy to support self-employment and individual entrepreneurship, focusing on the first expenses which generally represent a greater financial burden for new self-employed people.
