Bill points out that the QR Code-only menu emerged as a measure during the Covid pandemic, “but excludes and creates embarrassment”.
THE Legislative Assembly of São Paulo approved this Tuesday 16 the project which requires bars, restaurants and nightclubs to make printed menus available to customers. The PL must still be sanctioned by Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).
Written by deputies Marina Helou (Rede) and Guilherme Cortez (Psol), the proposal provides for sanctions for commercial establishments that do not comply with the new determination, stipulated on the basis of the Consumer Protection Code.

In the text, the deputies specify that the provision of menus via “QR Code” appeared as a measure of security and protection of the health of the population due to the Covid-19 pandemic and that this measure must be reviewed.
The authors claim that providing a menu, exclusively in digital format, “excludes and creates embarrassment for all people who do not have devices connected to the mobile Internet or who have difficulty handling such devices.”
