According to European authorities, in June 2024, investigators from the French Air Transport Research Section (SRTA) identified the existence of a Brazilian criminal network of cocaine traffickers.
The investigation identified 59 “mules”, who traveled several times a week from São Paulo to Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport, in France, carrying 2.5 kg of cocaine. According to officers, when they arrived at their final destination, they were immediately greeted by a member of the gang and then taken to Belgium. Considering this ‘modus operandi’, investigators located active members of the group in France and Belgium.
The authorities also identified that between June 2024 and June 2025, the leader of the gang, another Brazilian, had made five trips to France to organize the logistics of trafficking between the two countries. He was charged and arrested.
According to European agents, the project has already generated around 58.9 million reais and imported around 147 kg of cocaine. During the investigation period, four “mules” were arrested in São Paulo, six at Charles de Gaulle airport and one in London, leading to the seizure of 17.3 kg of cocaine.
During the operation which led to the arrest of the main members of the gang, drugs, two luxury vehicles and money were also seized.
