The fall of Antxon, Cerdán’s partner who mediated with Otegi and expanded Servinabar thanks to his friend Uxue Barkos

It is also the fall of businessman who saw how his small construction company multiplied contracts and turnover thanks to public awards.

Antxon is an important part of the framework that now strengthens the headquarters of Saints Cerdanhis partner and friend.

Partnered in a joint venture with Acciona, Antxon’s construction company has won multi-million dollar government contracts, such as the duplication of the Belate tunnelsawarded in December 2023 by 76 million euros.

The take-off of his business activity coincided with the period when Uxue Barkos chaired the Government of Navarra.

In fact, between 2015 and 2019, Servinabar and companies linked to the businessman totaled more than 15 million awards.

Barkos and Antxon are friends. The relationship, as this newspaper revealed, was captured in an image taken in a central bar in Pamplona in 2019, just as Barkos’ term ended.

Both made a champagne toast after a term in which Antxon and Cerdán’s company won major public contracts.

The awards continued under the government of socialist María Chivite, starting in 2019.

One of the contracts was in fact co-financed with European funds. And the latest was confirmed on the same day the UCO raided Servinabar headquarters in June this year.

Antxon also knew Maria Chivite long before she became the regional president.

They met for the first time in 2006 in Cintruénigo, where the businessman was promoting an industrial zone and Chivite was a young PSN advisor.

Already president, she met him four times between 2020 and 2021, as she herself admitted.

Meetings with Otegi

Antxon also had ties to Basque nationalism. For example, with Arnaldo Otegi. Both are from Elgóibar.

As the Bildu leader himself admitted, they saw each other several times.

Thanks to these meetings, a channel of communication opened between the Basque separatists and the PSOE.

And this was reflected in the motion of censure which supported Sánchez in 2018 and in the operation which allowed Bildu to recover the town hall of Pamplona in 2023.

Journal related to Geroa Bai

The Antxon case also has a media aspect. Because 2% of Servinabar is in the name of the son of the director of the News Journal.

On the date of signing, December 12, 2016, the young man was 16 years old, so he was a minor.

The next day, Antxon had scheduled a meeting with the editor of the newspaper himself.

News Journal is a newspaper linked to Geroa Bai, the party of Uxue Barkos and the Navarrese brand of the PNV in the Foral Community.

And this is not the only link between News Journal and Servinabar.

In the company Alegure, which shares its headquarters with Servinabar and is linked to Antxon Alonso, it appears as a shareholder Iñaki AlzagaCEO of Grupo Noticias, publishing group of News Journal.

Alégure was rewarded 2.63 million euros for the construction of a public school.

Alzaga is also president of Nortegas and former director of Euskaltel.
