
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBIfor its acronym in English) conducted special training for elements of the Jalisco Security Secretariat and federal and municipal personnel in the detection and neutralization of High Impact Threats As part of the preparation for FIFA World Cup 2026.
The course is embedded in the bilateral cooperation between Mexico And USAThe aim was to strengthen security capacities in the face of a highly relevant international event such as the World Cup.
In total, 29 police officers Jalisco state authorities and parts of the Secretariat of National Defense (defense), the Secretary of the Navy (Semar), the National Guard (GN) and the municipal police stations of Guadalajara and Zapopan.

“Their knowledge and professionalism will be vital to security before, during and after the 2026 FIFA World Cup and, more importantly, to serving the people of Jalisco.”
Hernández González also thanked the cooperation of the FBI Criminal Investigation Division Consul General Amy Scanlon and the United States Government.

The strategic security coordinator, Roberto Alarcon Estradastressed that the program represents a step forward in the preparation of police forces: “This program represents not just the completion of a training phase, but a crucial step in building the skills we need to meet current and future security challenges.”
On his part Ryan DemmonLegal Attaché of the FBI, emphasized that one of the central objectives of the course is to strengthen cooperation between the various agencies involved.
The latest training complements other previous international efforts, such as the course conducted in November by the French National Police to the Jalisco Police on democratic crowd management during demonstrations and major sporting events.

The completion of this training cycle reinforces the expectation that the collaboration between the institutions will continue six months before the start of the 2026 World Cup and be consolidated in future joint initiatives.
