The federal government declared a 116-hectare land in Brazlândia (DF) as a public interest zone. The objective is to allocate areas for land reform. Occupation must respect the occupancy capacity of the territory and the environmental conditions of the region. In this way, rural families will be able to produce in a regularized rural establishment.
The area, known as Fazenda Mozar, is part of a larger property owned by the Union and covers approximately 116.7 hectares, which is equivalent to 170 average urban blocks. The declaration of public utility is a first step before the actual expropriation of the territory.
The measure was made official by Order SPU/MGI No. 10.911, from the Union Heritage Secretariat (SPU), linked to the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI). With the publication of the ordinance, the land will be allocated to the implementation of a housing project of the National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform (Incra).

According to the Palácio do Planalto, the project aims to settle families of landless rural workers, selected as beneficiaries of the National Agrarian Reform Program. “The initiative will promote access to land, the strengthening of family farming and the socially equitable use of public goods,” said the MGI in a press release.
The order provides that the SPU of the Federal District will formally communicate with Incra so that the body can adopt the necessary measures to allocate the territory and implement the regulation.
Property of the people
The measure is part of line 3 (Strategic Public Policies) of the Imóvel da Gente program, an initiative aimed at democratizing federal government properties. The initiative highlights the social function of public goods, by aligning their management with the structuring policies of rural development, social justice and environmental sustainability.
On this line alone, between 2023 and the end of 2025, 1,383 properties have been allocated, totaling approximately 18.5 thousand km² of area.
In total, 1,472 property allocations were made for different public policies, housing and land regularization, with the potential to benefit 400 thousand families, in the 27 federative units and 553 municipalities.
