“Guerreiros do Sol” won Best TV Series at the 2025 Rose d’Or Awards, an award that selects the best TV shows around the world. Estúdios Globo and Globoplay’s production was represented at the gala in London, England, by composers Jorge Moura and Sergio Goldenberg and producer Juliana Castro.

“Even in my wildest fantasies, I never imagined that a story about the Sertão do Nordeste, the region in which I grew up, could take me to Europe to receive an award of this importance, at a ceremony in London,” Moore said at the time.

The author also said that this recognition shows that kangasso stories are universal, because they deal with human conflicts and desires. “Guerreiros do Sol” competed in this category with five other foreign productions: “Crystal Wall” from Germany, “EastEnders” from England, “Eshref Ruya” from Turkey, “Life Happens” from Belgium, and “Valle Salvaje” from Spain.

“Guerreiros” is a very Brazilian TV series, originating from our history. Therefore, it is a pleasure to know that it has reached a foreign audience. In a competitive environment like the one we live in today, it is very important that we have strong Brazilian broadcasting and television on our side. Very happy with this award, which is also from the country. “Brazilian artists live and all Brazilians live,” Goldenberg said when receiving the award.

In turn, Estúdios Globo’s Director of Drama, José Luiz Villarim, said that the Rose d’Or Awards reaffirm the importance of the broadcaster in the field of global entertainment. “Guerreiros is more than just a TV series, it is a symbol of our ability to transform local stories into global narratives, which move and connect people in different cultures. We will continue to invest in quality and innovation to bring the best of our productions to the world.”

“Guerreiros do Sol” tells the story of Josue and Rosa, a pair of cangaseros inspired by the most famous duo in history of Cangasú and Limbião and María Bonita. Globo’s win at the Rose d’Or Awards joins the award received by “Orfãos da Terra” in the same category in 2019. The TV series “Bom Sucesso” from 2020, “Pantanal” from 2022, and “Todas as Flores” from 2023 were also nominated for the award in each year.
