Three women and two men were arrested on Tuesday (2/12) on charges of carrying out fraud involving the false sale of building materials through advertisements on social networks and online commerce platforms.
The group used the names of serious companies in the sector to give credibility to the ads, which redirected victims to help on a WhatsApp number.

There are records of at least 18 casualties registered in the Federal District, with losses estimated at R$83,000. The gang has been operating for about two years.
Operation Castelo de Areia, launched by the 35th Police Station (Sobradinho II), also executed six search and seizure warrants in Goiânia, Guapo and Aparecida de Goiânia.
Eight incidents recorded in the state of Goiás with the same modus operandi were also identified.
