The gang used fake military IDs to purchase weapons in Royal Jordanian

On Thursday (04/12), the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro (PCERJ) launched Operation Craf Falso, to dismantle a document fraud scheme used by gun buyers who pretended to have legal licenses to purchase weapons.

This work is led by the Police Center specializing in weapons, ammunition and explosives (disarmament).

Teams execute search and seizure warrants at addresses in Barra da Tijuca, in the Western Region; And in Jardim America, the northern region; And in the Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense. So far, two weapons have been seized, and a man has been arrested for illegal possession.

Military IDs

The investigation found that those involved used Certificates of Registration (CR), Certificates of Firearm Registration (Craf) and even fake military IDs to deceive store owners, CACs and establishments licensed to sell weapons.

Through these forged documents, the investigated persons pretended to have legal credentials and were able to obtain weapons illegally, circumventing surveillance and inspection systems.

The operation seeks to collect documents, computers, media and records that help identify those responsible for producing the forged documents and the buyers who benefited from the scheme.

According to investigators, the group used a systematic and repetitive model of forgery, where documents were produced to appear legitimate in the face of superficial verification.
