The national government ordered a new budget amendment, allocating more resources to pay salaries, programmes, pensions and debts, through Decree No. 849/2025 published today in the Official Gazette. The regulations specify that the adequacy of the budget is protected by the state of public emergency in economic, financial, administrative, pensions, tariff, health and social affairs declared until December 2025.
In this context, the Executive considered that “given the current economic emergency, it is essential that the national government be able to ensure a reasonable distribution of its resources so that it can comply with its obligations.”
In this context, he stressed that “to achieve this, it is necessary to adapt the national budget that will be in effect throughout the current fiscal year, and allocate additional resources to specific areas.” Likewise, he warned in the official text, analyzed by Argentine News Agency, that “if the budget adjustment is not implemented immediately, the provision of some basic services for which the national state is responsible will be jeopardized.”
Detailing part of the destination of the allocated funds, the government specified that the amendment “contemplates, among other things, enhancing appropriations for personnel expenses, in order to meet current needs in terms of salaries, operating expenses and equipment, as well as appropriations for the payment of subsidies, scholarships, compensations, transfers and various expenses fulfilling the mission of jurisdictions and entities of the national administration.”
On the other hand, it is planned to reset the budget allocations of the Public Debt Department to enable it to pay attention to the financial services of the public debt for the current year and the obligations assigned to the treasury.
At the same time, the decree authorizes the Ministry of Economy to “amend, transfer, dissolve or liquidate the Argentine Gas Development Fund (FONDESGAS), in order to evaluate the ideal instrument to direct the financing of gas transportation businesses.”
Areas that increase your budget:
– Ministry of Security: The budget is strengthened by transferring the position and budget appropriations of the Directorate of the National Register of Genetic Data Related to Crimes against Sexual Integrity from the area of justice to security.
The budget of the Federal Police Retirement, Retirement and Pension Fund was also increased as a result of the increase in the monthly salary of the security forces and the cancellation of judicial rulings of social security origin for the payment of final rulings recognized in court.
– Ministry of Defence: The Financial Aid Institute’s resources are increased to disburse retirees and military pensions on the basis of increasing the monthly salary for members of the Armed Forces and members of the Naval Installations Police, and to cancel temporary judicial rulings.
– Ministry of Health: The budget has been strengthened to cover the portfolio programs and to meet expenses from the hospitals of Garrahan, El Croce, Cuenca Alta “Nestor Kirchner”, Dr. Rene Favaloro, “President Nestor Kirchner” and the Bicentennial of Esteban Echeverría.
Likewise, the budget of the National Disability Agency has been increased to cover the payment of non-contributory pensions. In addition, it increases the provision for the payment of the exceptional benefit allocated to beneficiaries of non-contributory pensions.
– Ministry of Human Capital: The current budget of the Secretariat for Children, Adolescents and Families is increased in order to pay attention to the food department.
– Secretary of Education: More resources to cover university teaching and non-teaching salaries, for the acquisition of computers and transfers for PROGRESAR grants, for school canteens and for extended day circulation.
– Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security: Funds are increased to cover the benefits of the National Employment, Return to Work, Promotion and Intercosecha programmes.
– Answer: Increases the budget for the disbursement of retirement benefits in order to incorporate the impact of the implementation of the Pension Mobility Law and address the expenses of family allowances, unemployment benefits and nutrition measures – 1000 Days Programme.uhLXwg
