The head of the Valladolid National Police’s drug group has been arrested in an anti-drug operation

The National Police arrested an inspector from the same body charged with heading the drug group in Valladolid as part of an operation against drug trafficking, police sources confirmed to elDiario.es. As part of the investigation, “other” detainees were arrested, although the same sources confirm that they are not agents.

The investigations, which remain confidential, are being conducted by the Investigative Court No. 3 of Valladolid with internal affairs agents from Madrid leading the proceedings. The operation also included the closure of part of some areas of the Delicias Police Station in Valladolid, where the arrested person works, and several other points in the city of Valladolid and its region.

The government delegate in Valladolid, Jacinto Canales, confirmed that “there is an open operation” and that he did not know anything else “and he should not,” as long as the operation continues.

Internal Affairs, according to EFE, is also taking statements from other police officers as witnesses within the existing device, which appears to be related to drug trafficking, without any other details about the operation that remains open. Apparently, the detainee was supposedly holding part of the seized drug caches and was living a high-end lifestyle.

The detained inspector is the partner of Marta Sanz, current municipal spokeswoman for the Popular Party in the Arroyo de la Encomienda City Council and former secretary of the Cortes table with citizens between 2019 and 2022.
