The renewal of Filipe Luís with Flamengo, announced this Monday (29/12), had repercussions outside Brazil and gained importance in the Spanish press. In an article published after the official announcement, a newspaper in the country treated the deal as an “end of year gift” for the red-and-black club and highlighted the coach’s stay until December 2027.
AS stressed that the renewal ends a period of negotiations marked by financial adjustments and alignment of projects, but emphasizes that the desire for continuity has always been present on both sides.

Still according to the website, Flamengo even analyzed market alternatives during the impasse, but the priority was always to keep the coach in office: “The plan and the desire always went in the same direction: Filipe at the Maracanã. Flamengo has a gift for 2026: Filipe stays in Rio de Janeiro.”
