The social leader Diego Rolonimprisoned for alleged money laundering and fraud against public administration, will serve house arrest after a court ruled that his presence in the house was necessary to ensure the emotional stability and care of his minor daughters.
The decision was made at the request of the defense, which had filed complaints about episodes of domestic violence related to the girls’ mother.
Rolón is accused of being part of a family network that allegedly diverted public funds through foundations and cooperatives linked to IAFEP between 2022 and 2023. The case, brought to court in September, also involves his father, Lorenzo Rolonalready Silvana Alicia Garciapartner of the latter. Despite the seriousness of the allegations, the judges ordered an analysis of the family context before deciding on the defense claim.
What report was used to make the decision?
The socio-ecological report prepared by the Directorate of Control and Support of Penal Enforcement shows that the defendant’s four daughters, three of them minors, were in the care of their paternal grandmother and were not in a situation of neglect. However, the document contained one important piece of information: the eldest daughter’s complaint against her mother for alleged physical violence, threats and episodes related to problematic drinking. One of the girls is also undergoing post-operative orthopedic surgery and requires constant care.
In this situation, the court concluded that Rolón’s support could help rebuild family dynamics and alleviate the overload of the current containment network.
The domicile was granted with strict conditions: electronic ankle bracelet, house ban, visit restrictions and the obligation to comply with all judicial supervision measures.
