The Andalusian Public Agency for Education, belonging to the Ministry of Educational Development and Professional Training, has launched a call for tenders for the works to finalize the new Secondary Education Institute (IES) of Dos Hermanas, located between the shopping centers Seville Road and Factorywho were … abandoned by the first winning company when they were 25.72% complete. This is due to the bankruptcy of the aforementioned construction company, which forced the termination of the contract, the development of a completion project and a new tender for the work.
The bid submission period for this tender will be open until December 31 of this year.
Once completed, the IES will have two secondary levels and 240 school placesalthough in a second phase it is planned to provide it with two additional lines of compulsory secondary education and two baccalaureate lines, thus reaching the D4+B22 typology, according to reports from the aforementioned Agency.
The land on which the new institute will be built, bordering the N-IV highway, has an area of 10,714 square meters and in this first phase 3,195.26 meters will be built.
Dependencies
The center will have, in the teaching area, eight multi-purpose secondary classroomsa music room and another for plastic and audiovisual education, a workshop room and a laboratory. It will also have a library, five departments, a sports hall with changing rooms and special education class with direct access to adapted toilets with changing room and shower with space for a stretcher. Additionally, there will be a double classroom and a support room.
In the administrative area, there will be the management offices, the head of studies and the secretariat, the orientation room, the office of parent and student associations, the concierge and reprography, the secretariat and the teachers’ room. As common services, the institute will have a general warehouse, four facilities, a cleaning and garbage room, and coffee. Finally, in the exterior spaces there will be a covered porch, a sports fieldparking for teachers, garden area, playground and orchard, as well as space reserved for expansion.
The construction of this new educational center is included in the Educational Infrastructure Plan of the Ministry of Educational Development and Vocational Training, executed by the Andalusian Public Agency for Education, and benefits from European co-financing through the European Regional Development Fund 2021-2027.
