Russian President Vladimir Putin has not rejected the US peace plan in Ukraine, Russian spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday (3/12). This statement comes one day after Russia met in Moscow with envoys of President Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
Russian Presidential Advisor Yuri Ushakov said that a consensual peace plan had not been reached and that part of the wording of the document that was delivered to Russia was “unacceptable.”

Putin says he has taken control of the strategic city of Pokrovsk, but Ukraine denies this
On Tuesday (2/12), Putin met with the delegation sent by Trump to discuss the peace plan, which received new updates after his meetings with Ukraine in Geneva and Florida.
Peace plan
- The original peace project, presented by Trump, contains 28 points, which have been constantly criticized for favoring the Kremlin.
- Due to criticism, the document was reduced to 20 proposals, aimed at making improvements for Ukraine.
- Trump’s envoys went to Russia to deliver the plan that was drawn up personally, with modifications made with Ukraine, in Geneva, Switzerland, and in Florida, in the United States.
- European leaders, who insist on participating in the negotiations, have presented a counterproposal that differs from the points raised by the United States.
Ushakov had said that the meeting was “useful and constructive” and that some of the proposals contained in the agreement “seem to be somewhat acceptable, but they must be discussed.” He pointed out that some of the writings presented are “unacceptable,” according to the Russian “TASS” agency.

Putin says he has taken control of the strategic city of Pokrovsk, but Ukraine denies this
Despite the criticism, Peskov stressed that Putin did not reject the peace proposals, but he considered some of them insufficient. He also thanked the US President for his invitation to negotiations.
Russia is ready if Europe wants war
Moments before the meeting, Putin insisted that he was not seeking war with Europe, and that there were no plans in this direction. However, he said that if Europe wanted to start a conflict, Russia was ready “for now.”
He added that Europe “is preventing the United States government from achieving peace in Ukraine.”
