Tomorrow Friday, the Chair of Democratic Memory of the University of Cordoba will celebrate the presentation of the Living Memory Prize which, in its fourth edition, goes to Alejandro Ruiz-Huerta Carbonell, whom the members of the Chair defined as “a good teacher … and best person, faithful and committed companion, last survivor of the massacre of the Atocha lawyers, who dedicated their entire lives to defending the need to embrace memory and compassion.
The award consists of a brief documentary prepared for the occasion entitled “A Meditated Reflection”, directed by Hugo Lasarte, María Cariñanos and Álex del Rey.
Young Photography Prize
During the event, the winning students of the first photography competition for young people “Snapshots of Memory” will also be rewarded, which, in the category of ESO and Baccalaureate students, was for Yanira Lopez Méndezstudent at IES Luis Carrillo de Sotomayorfor his work “En mes mains, son histoire”, of which the jury highlighted “its narrative force, its social sensitivity and its honest look at reality”.
In the category of undergraduate, postgraduate and training cycle university students, first prize was awarded to Camila Sofia Cid Rodriguezstudent at EASD Mateo Inurria, was awarded for his piece “Olvidados”, recognized for its creativity, its aesthetic composition and the emotional depth it transmits.
The event will be hosted by the the singer Juan Pinillaaccompanied on guitar by Antonio de la Luz.
