The “Legal Drinks” course trains the sector on combating adulterated drinks Dino

The Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants (Abrasel) and the Brazilian Distilled Beverages Association (ABBD), in partnership with other sector entities, launched the free Bebida legal platform, a permanent training environment aimed at identifying counterfeit drinks and strengthening security practices in establishments.

The new tool represents an important step in the cooperation agreement signed with the Government of São Paulo and expands the scope of content offered during the methanol crisis through live classes. In total, more than 15 thousand participants were trained in this format. Now, all materials are available on-demand, allowing business owners and teams to take the course at their own pace.

The platform provides short, practical modules to guide teams to recognize suspicious products, identify signs of tampering, and adopt safety protocols when receiving and storing beverages. The content also includes good practices in supplier relations and recommended actions in case of suspected fraud. In the end, all participants receive a free certificate.

For Abrasel’s president, Paolo Solmucci, the platform turns emergency measures into a permanent preventative policy. “The consumer did not break their trust in bars and restaurants because they saw responsibility. At no time was there a record of tainted drinks in these establishments. Now, with Bebida Legal, we extend that trust, creating a permanent educational base so business owners can continue to provide safe, high-quality service.”

“Strengthening the legal market means protecting consumers, revenues and jobs. The joint action of the productive sector, the legislative branch and the supervisory bodies is essential for us to advance the fight against the illegal beverage market in an effective and sustainable way,” notes Eduardo Cidade, President of the Brazilian Distilled Beverages Association (ABBD).

This is a joint initiative between ABBD, ABRASEL, ABAD, ABRAFESTA, FHORESP, IBRAC, Sicabege RS and Sindiatacadista RS, with support from the São Paulo State Government and SEDCON Procon RJ. To attend the lessons, simply log on to the website bebelegal.com.br.
