The LIDE Prize 2025 recognizes leaders in Rio and rewards projects from the Globo Group

Among the highlights of the ceremony were the projects associated with the Globo Group. One of them was the Rio Gastronomy Festival, from O Globo newspaper, which was chosen as the highlight. Created from the Rio Gastronomy Prize, the festival has established itself as one of the country’s major gastronomic meetings and is part of the city’s official calendar, promoting tourism, the creative economy and appreciation of Rio’s cuisine.

The other was Criança Esperança, a partnership between TV Globo and UNESCO. The initiative received the Outstanding Social Work Award after completing 40 years of work in 2025. In this time, it has supported more than six thousand social projects across the country, benefiting more than five million children, youth and families from vulnerable groups. The award was received by Rosanna Sperandio Pereira, Director of Criança Esperança at UNESCO, and Manuel Falcao, Director of Brand and Communications at Globo.

Tribute to the First Lady of Rio

This year’s edition also paid tribute to the First Lady of Rio State, Annalyn Castro, for her work leading RioSolidario and for her initiatives aimed at social inclusion, education and support for women in vulnerable situations.

Another figure in Rio de Janeiro politics to receive the honor this year is federal representative Pedro Paulo Teixeira (PSD), who was chosen as a public figure. The award was given for his work in the National Congress and his career in public administration in Rio de Janeiro. The award was presented by Rio Mayor Eduardo Paes, who requested the presence of some political allies on the Lide 2025 stage.

Other categories included areas such as Education, Health, Financial Market, Innovation, Sports, Fashion, Entertainment, Journalism and Social Entrepreneurship, bringing together companies, institutions and leaders with relevant influence on the country’s scenario.

According to Lady Rio de Janeiro President Andrea Raybould, the award seeks to highlight examples of leadership that contribute to the recovery and growth of the state:

Award criteria

The winners were determined based on research and evaluation conducted by the Lide Rio de Janeiro Business Council, taking into account criteria such as social and economic impact, sustainable innovation, strengthening regional connections and enhancing Rio’s positive image in Brazil and abroad.
