The Spanish Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), financed by European Union funds, is an instrument allowing territories to progress in areas such as infrastructure, sustainability, digitalization, inclusion or social cohesion. How did you benefit from Cordoba … this European funding managed by the central government and the Junta de Andalucía?
The answer is that there is, at least, three major projects who benefited from strong support in the province of Cordoba during this year 2025 with European funding through actions carried out by the General Administration of the State or by the Autonomous Community.
Andalusia received a total of 8,253 million euros for this plan, 4,329 executed by the Junta and 3,924 by the Government.
Until November 14, 2025, the plan has allocated and executed a total of 8.253 million euros in Andalusiaof which the Council applied €4,329 million. In addition, the General State Administration managed 3.924 million euros.

Among these, a small part was allocated to financing works, actions and improvements in the province of Cordoba. The most notable throughout this 2025 financial year are three. They are oriented in the areas of “Plan modernizes infrastructure and improves connections”, “Plan strengthens the welfare state with more housing, education and health” and “Plan for commitment to tourism, commerce and culture”.
The destination of European funds
From the first infrastructure plan, Córdoba has benefited from European Union funds in State actions, through Adif, for the modernization of the railway control and safety installations on the Córdoba-Málaga line. Its direct contribution amounts to 1.5 million euros.

From the Welfare State plan, the province also benefited from an action carried out by the General Administration of the State. This is the Comprehensive care service center for victims of sexual violence for 24 hours a day. Córdoba has an eighth of the 12.3 million allocated to the eight Andalusian provinces.
Likewise, in terms of improving historical heritage for tourism purposes, the central government has provided funding for the enhancement of Priego Castle.the historic complex of Palma del Río and the Roman site of Puente Genil. These are some of the 21 projects in this area to which the State has allocated 38.3 million sponsored by the European Union.
