Douglas Alves da Silva, 26, who was arrested for allegedly running over and dragging Tainara Sousa Santos, 30, along the margin of Do Rio Tete, on Saturday (29/11), denied that he knew the victim when leaving the police detention center on Monday (1/12), in the southern region of São Paulo.
The man left the police unit around 10:15 a.m., heading to the Barra Funda Forum, where he will undergo a custody hearing, which will determine whether he will be charged with attempted femicide while free or in prison. He was transferred by the 90th District Police Team responsible for the investigation.

The suspect had facial bruises, blood marks and head injuries. In addition to denying meeting Tainara, the man said he was a worker.

Silva was arrested on Sunday night (11/30) at a hotel located in Vila Prudente, east of Sao Paulo.
According to the Public Security Secretariat, the suspect resisted approaching and attacked one of the officers who intervened and shot him. The suspect was beaten and restrained, and was taken to Villa Alpina State Hospital, where he received medical care.
The case was registered as arrest of a wanted person, resistance and bodily harm at the Fourth Division Police Station – North.
A woman is being dragged by a car on Tete’s side
Taynara lost her legs after being dragged by a car. She was rescued by passers-by, who realized she was a woman trapped outside the trunk of a black car.
She was taken to the Viridor Jose Storopoli Municipal Hospital.

According to the defense, the person driving the car is the young woman’s ex-husband, who has been following her for some time. Taynara’s brother reported that the two were former lovers and had never had anything serious with each other.
Health condition
Tainara remained hospitalized in the intensive care unit as of Sunday afternoon. According to the victim’s family’s lawyers, she is not in danger of death.
to Capitals A childhood friend of the victim, Leticia Dias, explained that she had already undergone surgery to remove her legs and that she would have to be transferred to another hospital, where skin grafts would be performed in the areas most affected by the drag on the asphalt.
According to her friend, Taynara lost one of her legs when she was dragged by the car. He added regretfully: “The doctor tried to restore the torn leg, but he did not succeed. Unfortunately, he had to remove both of her legs.” She explained that the amputations were performed at different times on the victim’s legs.
Furthermore, Leticia stated that her friend had brain swelling, but the CT scan showed no seriousness in the edema.
It is not yet known which hospital Tainara will be transferred to. “We’re going to have to do a skin graft on her, because while she was being dragged across the asphalt, she was left without any skin, so we’re going to have to do that skin graft,” the friend said.
Who is the victim?
Described by family and friends as a cheerful, smiling woman with a “good person,” she is a mother of two children, a 12-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl, who lives alone.
to Capitals Childhood friend Leticia Dias said the victim loved to go out and enjoy life with her friends, family and children.
“She enjoys everything she can in this life,” Letizia revealed.
Taynara was working in production for an e-commerce agency. “She was doing her little things, and was planning several things, but unfortunately this tragedy happened. She is a very good girl, but what happened to her will stay with her for the rest of her life,” the friend lamented.

“She’s a happy girl,” said Luann, Taynara’s brother. “She likes to go out, have fun, doesn’t start fights, is lovable, makes everyone smile, and is fun.”

Family members, friends and attorneys for Taynara Souza Santos say they will fight for justice for the victim.
