The mayor of Marabá (PA), Toni Cunha (PL) published this Friday (19/12) on social networks a video in which he castigates President Lula and accuses the PT member of political persecution against Zezé Di Camargo. These criticisms came after the federal government canceled a million reais budget already committed by the Union for a country music show in the city.
According to the mayor’s statement, the municipality did so. La Ria received funds from the Ministry of Tourism which were used to organize shows on New Year’s Eve, including a country music show.

However, on the eve of the event, Cunha said the city hall was informed of the cancellation of the transfer, according to him, due to the president’s “personal feelings.” “What a shame, Luli!” he said.

“Lula, you are president, whether we like it or not, of Brazil. He does not have the money of the Brazilian people. In Marabá, there are Brazilians. His government, through a prior democratic exercise by Minister Celso Sabino (Minister of Tourism), a democrat, committed to financing the Zezé Di Camargo show in Marabá, at the beginning of the year. The payment had already been committed by his government,” he reported.
The mayor continued to criticize the PT member and criticized Lula’s position which caused damage to the Municipality of Pará by suspending the sending of resources for the already announced show. Finally, he said he would go to court to recover public funds.
“You (Lula) make it clear that, as we know, you want to buy the silence of national artists. If they support you, they can be hired with federal resources, otherwise they will be isolated. At this age you must know that revenge is poison for the soul and that freedom of expression is sacred for a full and true democracy. It’s a shame. You haven’t won elections here for a long time. Maybe you won’t mind, but the people of Marabá will start to reject you more and more,” he added.
