The mayor of São José dos Campos, Anderson Farias (PSD), appointed a nurse who claims to be his lover to the position of advisor to a municipal company.
The alleged extramarital affair came to light after the lover accused the then first lady of persecuting her by calling her a “whore.”
The chronicle had access to documents showing Milena as an advisor to Urbam, a public company which provides cleaning services in the city and of which the town hall is the majority shareholder.
The appointment was signed by the mayor in August this year, a month before the relationship between the two became public. His mandate is one year with remuneration of R$1,500 per month.

Amante filed a complaint against the mayor’s wife for calling her a “whore”
Milena Coelho has been a public sector nurse since December 2017, according to information available on her LinkedIn. On August 27 of this year, she filed a police report in which she claimed to have a romantic relationship with the mayor and to be a victim of persecution by the then first lady.
Sheila Thomaz was accused of going to Milena’s workplace to embarrass her, as well as watching her at the door of her house and intimidating her. During a public event, the then-first lady reportedly called her alleged lover a “whore.”
After the relationship was revealed, the São José dos Campos city hall issued an official note announcing the couple’s separation.
At the time, the Metropolises reported that the first lady had previously accused the mayor of domestic violence and had a protective order against the city manager.
In the context of marital crisis, Metropolises found that the relationship between the mayor and Milena Coelho was already known in political circles since last year. Anderson, however, is reportedly maintaining his sham marriage to Sheila Thomaz, who reportedly has electoral aspirations of her own.
