The action strengthens security in Capão da Canoa and Cidreira during the busiest period of summer
The Military Brigade has begun mobilizing personnel who will intervene in the 56th Operation Dolphin, an action aimed at strengthening public security on the northern coast of Rio Grande do Sul during the summer season. The operation takes place between December 22, 2025 and February 23, 2026, with operations concentrated in the municipalities of Capão da Canoa and Cidreira.
The police reception was held separately in the two cities. In Capão da Canoa, the Deputy General Commander of the Military Brigade, Colonel PM Douglas da Rosa Soares, the Regional Commander, Colonel PM Artur Marques de Barcellos, and the Commander of the 2nd BPAT, Lieutenant Colonel PM Luiz César Lima dos Santos, participated in the event. In Cidreira, the activity was led by the commander of the 8th BPM, Major PM Rúbia do Nascimento Bruck.
A total of 682 military policemen, from different regions of the state, were assigned to this operation. The staff will be used as part of overt policing, following the significant increase in the flow of holidaymakers and residents experienced on the north coast during the peak season.
